Project Success Story: The Jackson Center Solar Project

As RE Royalties celebrates five years since the launch of our inaugural Green Bond, we’re proud to highlight the tangible impact our investors have made possible. Through the proceeds of our Green Bonds, we’ve financed renewable energy projects that are reducing emissions, supporting local economies, and driving the transition to a cleaner, more sustainable future. The Jackson Center Solar Project is one success story — a powerful example of how our green bondholders are helping build a renewable energy future. 

Developed and operated by Teichos Energy in Mercer County, Pennsylvania, the Jackson Center Solar Project demonstrates how green bond capital directly supports the growth of renewable energy generation and mitigates the impacts of climate change. 

In October 2021, RE Royalties acquired a sliding scale gross revenue royalty on the 27 MWDC (20 MWAC) Jackson Center Solar Project – Phase 1, providing Teichos Energy with flexible, non-dilutive capital to move the project toward construction. 

Building on this success, in February 2023, RE Royalties expanded its support by acquiring an additional gross revenue royalty on Phase 2 of the same project. Together, these financing arrangements have helped advance a major renewable energy development that will soon generate an estimated 42,800 MWh of clean energy per year — enough to power thousands of homes while significantly reducing regional carbon emissions. 

In addition to royalty financing, RE Royalties also provided a US$1.8 million letter of credit to support interconnection requirements, demonstrating how our flexible capital solutions can meet the unique needs of renewable developers at different stages of project maturity.
