About the Eric Hamber Griffins ProgramÂ
Â
The Eric Hamber Griffins Program is the first team in the school’s history to compete in the BC High School Football Association in 2010, with a Junior Varsity Team. During their competition, Eric Hamber has been the sole public school in Vancouver with a football program. It is also the last football program in Vancouver. Owing to issues caused by the pandemic in 2020, the program was on a hiatus but is back on the field and ready to teach players the true meaning of teamwork, resilience, hard work and grit, and leadership skills. The school or district does not fund the program; rather, it depends on fundraising and donations to ensure safety supplies, equipment, and transportation needs are met. Â
